About the Acne Clarity Programme

About the Programme

Structure Where
It Matters Most

Acne is one of the most commonly mismanaged skin concerns. Many people move from product to product, facial to facial, antibiotic to antibiotic, without a clear long-term plan. The problem is not always that treatments do not exist — the problem is often that the pathway is not structured, sequenced or personalised correctly.

At Shujo Aesthetics, we look at acne properly. The goal is not just to calm acne temporarily. The goal is to build a safer, clearer and more sustainable skin journey.

This programme is especially suitable for clients with skin of colour, Black skin, Asian skin, Middle Eastern skin and melanin-rich skin, where acne often leads to stubborn post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dark marks and acne scarring.

What We Assess

Why Acne Needs
a Structured Programme

Acne improves best when the plan is consistent, barrier-aware and adjusted to the stage of the skin. At Shujo Aesthetics, we assess every contributing factor before recommending a course of action.

The type of acne
The severity of breakouts
Skin barrier function
Hormonal influences
Pigmentation risk
Acne scarring risk
Previous treatments used
Current skincare routine
Diet, gut and lifestyle factors where relevant
Suitability for prescription-led treatment

Who This Is Suitable For

The Acne Clarity Programme may be suitable if you are experiencing any of the following:

Active acne or adult acne
Hormonal acne or acne-prone skin
Congested skin or blackheads
Post-acne dark marks or PIH
Acne scarring or uneven texture
Skin of colour acne concerns
Asian skin acne pigmentation
Breakouts that keep returning
Skin irritated from too many products

Pigmentation & Acne

Acne, PIH & Acne Scars
in Skin of Colour

In melanin-rich skin, acne can leave behind long-lasting dark marks known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This means many clients are dealing with two concerns at once — active acne and the marks it leaves behind. A safe acne journey must usually be sequenced carefully.

This staged approach reduces the risk of irritation, rebound breakouts and worsening pigmentation — which is why we never rush or skip stages in this programme.

The Safe Sequencing Approach

I
Calm Active InflammationFirst, we reduce active breakouts and inflammation — using appropriate topical, prescription or in-clinic support.
II
Stabilise the Skin BarrierBefore introducing actives, we rebuild the skin barrier — essential in skin of colour where barrier disruption triggers further pigmentation.
III
Introduce Pigmentation CorrectionOnce active acne is controlled, we address post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and dark marks with carefully paced correction protocols.
IV
Treat Texture & Acne ScarringWhen the skin is stable, we turn to acne scar treatment — addressing texture, pores and structural scarring using appropriate modalities.

Patient Suitability

Who This
Programme Is For

Active or Adult Acne
01

Active or Adult Acne

Whether you are experiencing a current breakout or managing recurring adult acne — including hormonal acne — this programme creates the consistent, structured plan that makes the difference.

Congested or Acne-Prone Skin
02

Congested or Acne-Prone Skin

If your skin is chronically congested, prone to blocked pores, blackheads or persistently dull, this programme addresses underlying triggers rather than treating surface symptoms alone.

Post-Acne Marks and PIH
03

Post-Acne Marks & PIH

Managing both active acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation requires a sequenced approach. We address breakouts first, then introduce mark-fading strategies when the skin is ready.

Overloaded or Confused Routine
04

Overloaded or Confused Routines

If your current routine has become too harsh, too complicated or simply isn't working, this programme strips it back and rebuilds it correctly — with clinical guidance at every stage.

What the Programme
May Include

Your treatment plan is bespoke and clinically led. Depending on your assessment, the programme may include any combination of the following:

01

Prescription-Strength Skincare

Where clinically appropriate, to help control acne, reduce congestion, improve cell turnover and support pigmentation management.

For suitable adult clients, hormonal influences may be discussed within prescribing scope. Antibiotic therapy may be considered for inflammatory acne where clinically appropriate — always used responsibly as part of a broader plan.

Introduced for acne scarring, texture, pores and skin quality once active acne is controlled. Not recommended while skin is actively inflamed.
