Safety &
Clinical Governance

Our commitment to safety is the foundation of every treatment, every consultation, every decision.

At Shujo Aesthetics, safety is non-negotiable. Our standards are built around assessment, consent, documentation, infection prevention and aftercare — because every patient deserves care that is as responsible as it is effective.

Our Philosophy

Safety Is Not Optional

Clinical governance at Shujo Aesthetics is not a checklist — it is the way we practise. From the moment you enquire to the point your treatment is complete, every step is governed by structured protocols designed to protect your wellbeing, support informed decision-making, and ensure the highest standard of care.

"We assess suitability before we recommend treatment. Safety, honesty and clinical rigour come before any aesthetic outcome — without exception."

Our Clinical Standards

How We Protect You

Six core standards underpin every treatment at Shujo Aesthetics. Together, they form the governance framework that keeps your care safe, traceable, and held to the highest possible level.

01

Standard One

Assessment-First Practice

We assess suitability before recommending any treatment. This includes a review of medical history, risk factors, skin barrier status and pigmentation risk where relevant — so recommendations are always grounded in clinical judgement, not assumptions.

02

Standard Two

Informed Consent

We explain benefits, realistic outcomes, risks, alternatives and aftercare before every treatment. Consent is documented and you always have time to ask questions. No treatment proceeds unless you are genuinely comfortable to proceed.

03

Standard Three

Infection Prevention & Aseptic Technique

Strict hygiene measures are observed for every treatment, including sterile equipment, appropriate skin preparation and full adherence to aseptic technique. There are no shortcuts when it comes to your safety.

04

Standard Four

Documentation & Traceability

We document the products used (including batch traceability where applicable), treatment areas, clinical notes and aftercare instructions. This creates a clear and auditable record that supports your ongoing care and safety.

05

Standard Five

Emergency Preparedness

We maintain full emergency readiness for rare but serious events, including vasovagal reactions and allergic responses. Clear escalation pathways are in place so that, in the unlikely event of a complication, we are prepared to act swiftly and appropriately.

06

Standard Six

Aftercare & Follow-Up

Written aftercare is provided following every treatment, and planned review points are built into all corrective programmes. Your care does not end when you leave — we remain available and accountable throughout your treatment journey.

Online Consultations

Online Clinic Safety

Our online consultations follow a structured screening process with photo guidance and clear escalation rules. We take online safety seriously — which is why online consultations are not suitable for emergency or urgent symptom assessment. If your concern requires immediate attention, please contact the appropriate service.

Not an Emergency Service

Urgent or Emergency Symptoms?

Shujo Aesthetics is not an emergency or urgent care service. If you are experiencing urgent or emergency symptoms following any treatment — whether with us or elsewhere — please contact the appropriate service immediately. Do not wait for a clinic response.
