Age Spots Treatment in Milton Keynes
Targeted treatment planning for sun-related pigment patches and age-associated uneven skin tone.
Age spots, also known as sun spots, often appear on areas that have had repeated light exposure over time. They may become more noticeable with age and can make the complexion look older or less even. At Shujo Aesthetics, we assess the type of pigment and the condition of the surrounding skin before advising treatment.
Understanding the Condition
What Is Age Spots?
Age spots — also called sun spots, solar lentigines or liver spots — are flat, darkened patches of pigment that develop on skin that has been repeatedly exposed to sunlight over the years. They most commonly appear on the face, hands, décolletage and shoulders. Unlike freckles, which fade in winter, age spots are persistent. They reflect an accumulation of excess melanin produced in response to UV exposure and are a sign of cumulative sun damage.
Clinically Treatable
Age spots develop from cumulative UV exposure and are a form of post-sun-damage pigmentation.
