About the Procedure
Venesection — also referred to as therapeutic phlebotomy — is the controlled removal of a volume of blood for clinical purposes. It is an established procedure used in the management of certain conditions including haemochromatosis, polycythaemia vera and other iron or red blood cell disorders, where regular blood removal forms part of a medically directed treatment plan.
At Shujo Aesthetics, this service is offered privately in a professional clinical setting. We do not provide diagnosis or ongoing condition management — patients are expected to be under the care of an appropriate clinician and should be able to provide supporting documentation or referral information prior to proceeding.

Patients under the care of a GP or specialist who have been advised to undergo regular therapeutic phlebotomy as part of their treatment plan.
What we need from you
A referral letter or clinical confirmation, recent blood results relevant to your condition, and a completed pre-procedure questionnaire.

Our Clinical Approach
Venesection is not offered as a casual wellness service. We take a thorough, safety-led approach to every patient — reviewing referral details, recent bloods and clinical context before any procedure is confirmed. Our role is to carry out the procedure professionally and safely, within the framework of your existing clinical care. Patients should remain under the supervision of their GP or specialist throughout their management.
